DJ Doubledown drops the hot Drum-n-Bass at Club Nebula - 4/29/07
I got to check out the new Club Nebula. This club is HOT!!!! Packed place as I arrived. They had a stream of drum-n-bass on. I asked Seereina Geiger if I could jump on the decks for some DnB. I dropped it heavy on em! Loud and in yo face! I loved the lickable looking candy all over the room.
Phat Cats Jazz Club - I just don't get it????
Help me out here, because for the life of me, I can't figure it out. Phat Cats Jazz Club has an average traffic of 130,000. It is a nice looking sim, nice mall, nice ballroom. It's streaming in the most muzakey of the soft smooth jazz music. There's not many classified ads taken out for the club, there's no camping chairs, and there's no tags like 'sex' 'money' ' porn' etc.
I just can't friggin' figure it out. I was there for close to 30 minutes, the place never rezzed beyond the floor and a couple of AVs in front of me, but the map showed about 100 blips. I can't figure out why SO MANY people are finding this place, coming here, and staying here?!?!?!
I talked to the owner briefly and she was nice. There was other staff present and that was cool too.... but hardly anything ever rezzed, lag was severe, I never really saw many people. What is going on here?!?!?! Is it a massive army of AV bots that are logged on to create the traffic? Is it some kind of marketing ingenuity? Someone please post your thoughts as to why this sim is causing so much traffic to arrive and stay.

IONIC Benton @ Trash Palace - 4/22/07
Big day for electronica in Second Life. After I finished up with my remix showcase at Menorca, I popped over to Rave Island and partied with some great hard house. Excellent quality sound from this dude! He comes to us from Ehlange in Luxembourg. Unique style of minimal and micro house, however these tracks have much more energy than the usual droned out minimal tech. He's got electro and tech tendencies, but overall he lays out distinct quirky house.

Grip Talon!! Very talented DJ! He has an arsenal of tracks and isn't afraid to unleash em on your eardrums. his set went from hard to trancey to housey and then displayed some pristine scratching to some hiphop instrumentals.

Teejay Vanbeeck & Club Fallout with Headlining DJ Charming Babii
I made it over to Club Fallout on 4/20. A great day to be out clubbing. Teejay Vanbeeck is the owner, very cool dude. Club Fallout has burst into SL hard, immediately establishing a presence of phenominal DJ talent. Back to back to back. On the 20th they presented a 10 hour lineup.
Charming Babii really struck me as an outstanding song selector, mixer, and turntable artist. One track after the next raising the energy into a peak hour explosion. His set was on the money; something I would hear at a RL massive electronica event as electro headliner. This show was FRIGGIN AWESOME! DJs Teejay Vanbeeck & Charming Babii held it down tight.
Be sure to make it over to Club Fallout immediately doing it BIG with hours and hours of fresh live DJs just about everyday. Also get over there because Charming exclusively only plays there.

You may use the sounds provided, add your own sounds, add your own lyrics, electrify it out, or do an acoustic cover. Do anything you’d like; use your creativity and warp the original into a new piece.
(7) Seven Finalists will be selected to have their remixes heard publically. A Live Listening & Voting Party will take place in Menorca on Sunday April 22nd, 2007 @ 12pm. All attending audience members will be given a notecard to place votes for their favorite versions of “Cruisin Round Second Life.”
Prizes: 1st $6000L 2nd $3000L 3rd $2000L
All entrants may have a 4x6 promotional poster up at the event @ Menorca.
How to Enter: After you have made your version of the track, pay the avatar Doubledown Tandino $500L to enter. 100% of the entrance fees will be used to pay the winners and sponsor the contest & event.
