Selling my Second Life Group: "Live Turntable DJs"

For over 3 years, I've done my best to establish a promotional, networking, and collaboration group for the Live Turntable DJs and DJ fans of Second Life.   I have done my best to sort out the DJs, the Event Promoters, and the music lovers in SL.  Back when this group first started in SL,  there were NO live turntable djs.  There wasn't even a difference in classification of the type of DJs in SL.  I made this group because I needed to show Second Life that a "playlisting" DJ is not a real turntable mix DJ.   Since then, Second Life has blossomed into a full fledged Live Turntable DJ community.

Now the time has come where I am looking to sell this group.  The reason why I am selling it is because of the extreme time and effort I've invested in making this group special.  Furthermore, the future owner of this group will have full access to over 1000 members, over 300 DJs, and over 300 club and event promoters.  This group is a high value opportunity for any DJ agency, club looking to book DJs, club looking to hire quality staff, and a effective method for DJ, club, and event needs.  If you are in the club business & music entertainment industry inworld, you will find this group is an excellent investment.

Link to the group: http://world.secondlife.com/group/17cd56a2-2f19-74c2-8cb8-e5142bf1f5d0

If you have any questions, inquiries, or simply want to know why I am selling this group, please email me at DJDoubledown (at) gmail.com
If there are no qualifying buyers, the group will be shut down sometime between September 5th and September 9th.

Here is your chance to jump on a tremendous opportunity filled with contacts that will make your Second Life entertainment business catapult to success.

Once again, email me ASAP at DJDoubledown (at) gmail.com with any questions. Please act fast.
(Doubledown Tandino in SL)

Thank you.

P.S.  I am not getting rid of this group because "I am tired of it"  ... It pains me to have to let this group go.  Hopefully the new owner will continue onward with the ideals I set out for the group.

Cartman and South Park conduct a website review meeting

I couldn't help but think that this may resemble a Linden Lab meeting discussing their new website look and interface. And oh yeah.... Second Life has a new website interface.

Do You Wanna Date My Avatar by The Guild [music video]

UPDATE: Hot of the heels of the original music video is a Second Life version. Full credit goes to The Guild for the original, but I thought this is a great homage by covering the music over with a "second life avatar" rendition

I'm Moving in Real Life

Hi there all you metaverse ravers! I wanted to mention that I am currently in the process of moving in real life, and haven't been too attentive to the blog.
I should be back in full swing by late August.

One of the many benefits of working as a Second Life and social media entrepreneur, is that I can relocate from place to place, continue my work, and not have too much interrupted because of the move.

Hope everyone is having a great summer! See ya when I'm settled!

Daft Punk to Compose Music Score to Tron : Legacy

Taken directly from Firstshowing.net : because they have a great record of ALL things Tron Legacy so far:

Holy Crap, Daft Punk is Scoring Disney's Tron 2.0!

March 4, 2009
Source: Upcoming Film Scores
by Alex Billington

Daft Punk

Even though Tron 2.0 isn't slated to hit theaters until 2011, we keep hearing big updates on the project, surrounding everything from the plot to CGI cloning of Jeff Bridges. But here's an announcement that I am truly giddy about reporting. The always reliable Upcoming Film Scores blog is claiming that Daft Punk has signed on to do the score for Tron 2.0! They say that Disney has actually confirmed this with them, which means I'm also going to say that it's accurate until proven otherwise. And let me be the first to say, this could be absolutely unbelievably phenomenal, but that may be because I'm such a big fan of Daft Punk.

While their songs have been used in plenty of movies, Daft Punk has never actually scored an entire movie before. They did provide almost all of the music for the Interstella 5555 anime, and they did also direct a movie called Electroma, but that didn't feature any of their music. I have no clue how this will turn out, but that doesn't matter, because this could be the greatest Tron 2.0 news I've ever heard. If there was anyone that I could've dreamed about being involved with the music for Tron, it would've been Daft Punk, that is for sure! And lo and behold, they're actually scoring the movie. Damnit, 2011 can't get here soon enough!

We Need Your Help to Improve Live Performance in SL!

Via inSL note:

Live performance is Second Life is one of my passions, and if you are reading this notecard it's probably important to you too. And that's why we need your help.

Linden Lab has asked the live performance community for our suggestions, ideas, complaints and genius bits about how to improve the overall experience for everyone - from performers to venue owners and event planners to residents.

As part of the SLCC Music Track, we will be having a discussion
Saturday at 3PM SL/PDT
on the panel: Looking to the Future of Live Performance in SL with Colossus Linden.

You can help make that track powerfully meaningful- just add your ideas and insights using the embedded form found here:
http://bit.ly/SLCCideas

Everyone's input will be collected, we'll organize the information, and we'll talk about as much as we possibly can at SLCC. We'll also make sure that the information is accessible to anyone that is interested.

Please spread the word and thanks in advance.

If you have questions, just drop me a note.

Peace ~ Grace Mcdunnough
