eJamming AUDiiO 3.0 Makes History in Second Life

eJamming AUDiiO 3.0 Makes History in Second Life

Musicians Perform Live Together From Three Distant Locations Using eJamming’s CD-Quality Real-Time Platform

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On Saturday, October 30, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time, a drummer in North Carolina will play live with a guitarist in Maine and a bass player in California to a club full of Second Life “residents” dazzled by the rich sound and tight groove that eJamming AUDiiO 3.0 enables.

“We’re excited that bands in Second Life have discovered our latest software and that one of the top in-world promoters reached out to us to promote this event,” said Gail Kantor, eJamming Co-Founder. “Achieving a low-bandwidth high resolution multi-player audio service is what we’ve strived for all along. With 3.0 we’ve nailed it. That bands are using eJamming in SL is unbelievably gratifying.”

“Kevin M. Thomas, one of my musicians, turned me on to this new version of eJamming,” Tara Lopes of MUSIC NOT POLITICS offered. “Now, several of my musicians have started using it, and I feel privileged introducing eJamming AUDiiO to the entire SL community.”

Netcasting in SL is a natural progression toward eJamming AUDiiO’s JamCast feature, which allows real-world listeners on any Internet-connected device to attend live eJamming sessions. Today, artists typically stay close to their fans using social networks. JamCasting through eJamming’s multiplex AUDiiO platform extends the growing trend of online music distribution – focused on live, geographically dispersed sessions, further empowering musicians.

eJamming AUDiiO 3.0 is downloadable from www.ejamming.com/learn-more/.

The live performance can be heard at http://fcmcradio.com.

I don't see how they can be "making history" when myself and others like VLB have been playing collaborative GLOBAL concerts since as far back as 2006. My youtube playlist documents some of these http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=D3F02305D166CEC4

More BS about "Making History" in #SL. http://fwd4.me/YwW Many of us have been doing GLOBAL jams since 2006. http://fwd4.me/Wub

You should know better than to publish rubbish like this DT.
Your disrespect for the musicians who have been doing this all along is sad to see.

@Komuso, it's just a news story slash promo slash press release (as you know). No one is challenging what year you first did real-time stream jamming. "Making history" isn't declaring they were the first.

Will try to compensate previous posts...It's sad to see such critizes going over a REALLY BREAKING THROUGH TECHNOLOGY they are introducing to the musician community. Streaming feeds to SL and audio braodcasting is NOT their key features (and is made by telco operator since years...) even if it nice to see them doing this. Their UNIQUE platform enable individual musicians to play together in real time with near-ZERO latency from anywhere in the world, anytime with high quality and just with a simple Internet connection and your computer+instrument pair. I have been very sceptical about this (comparing with open source techno NinJam already there... and with some defects) until I actually tried their software and became addicted. This is BRILLANT, INNOVATIVE AND BEST OF ALL WORKING AS THEY CLAIM ! LONG LIFE to REAL eJamming !
