Second Life Musician and DJ Doubledown Tandino Signed to Def Jam Recordings

Associated Press

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK - Kanye West, Jay-Z, and The Isley Brothers are just a few of artists that have been signed with Def Jam Recordings. Now, Doubledown Tandino has been approached and officially signed to the major hip-hop record label.

Russell Simmons says he "sees promise in Doubledown. He's the young and talented electronic musician and DJ from a virtual world I believe the label has been searching for."

Tandino has stated that he's thrilled to join the hip-hop label even though he cannot rap. At the same time, he, and the Second Life community are saddened that his new contract with Def Jam Recordings will prevent him from being able to perform in Second Life."
